Full description
Pointed drop-shaped pendant set with a natural slate cabochon from Easdale in the Scottish Hebrides, made in recycled sterling silver.
Slate was mined in Easdale for hundreds of years until the early 20th century and was a prized roofing material throughout Scotland and beyond. The natural slate contains small pyrite inclusions creating the dramatic effect of the grey/black stone sprinkled with golden pyrite squares
Each stone is unique, I have a small number of them I bought from the gemstone collector.
I have used recycled (eco-silver) sterling sheet to make the pendant. The reverse of the pendant features a fragment of etched pattern as it was reclaimed from an older piece of jewellery.

For each item sold in my Scottish gemstone collection, I will pay for a native tree to be planted in the Caledonian Forest in the Scottish Highlands.
