I'm Ellen and I hand craft silver jewellery from my garden studio on the West Sussex coast.
Influenced by ancient cultures, geology, inspiring quotes and travel adventures! My work features lots of metal marking such as hand stamping, hammering and fusing all using 100% recycled sterling silver and natural gemstones.
ORDERING INFO: All jewellery comes presented in my branded white boxes and is posted via Royal Mail in letterbox sized boxes (apart from rings - these boxes are just too deep!). If your jewellery is being made to order the item listing will give you a timeframe and my working days are Monday - Friday.
POSTAL INFO: Most items will get posted out from the studio within 48 hours unless otherwise stated. You can choose your preferred method at the checkout.
It was said that Maidens of the sea had the power to change the course of nature and control the waves but that Neptune forbid them to do so.
In the days of intrepid journeys across the oceans in elegant sailing boats, one such sea maiden had been swimming alongside the same schooner for many years and had fallen in love with the captain from a distance.
On one occassion, a mighty storm threatened the safety of the captain and the mermaid could take no more. She instantly calmed the seas in order to save him.
For her impetious actions, Neptune banished the sobbing mermaid to the depths of the ocean, never to surface or swim alongide ships again. Her tears continue to wash up on the shorelines as gleaming, crystalline treasures in the colours of the sea. An eternal reminder of true love and sacrifice.

Full description
A clear, frosted piece of sea glass that has been smoothed and rounded by years of tumbling around in the sea off the North East coastline of England. Most likely to be from the waste glass that was dumped here from the surrounding bottleworks that produced several thousands of glass bottles each day during the Victorian era.
After a good washing, the glass has been set using fine silver wire and sterling silver sheet. After the setting was made it was then soldered onto a sturdy, wide silver band that has been finished with a hammered effect.
SIZE:
Ring size is a U.K size M.
Sea glass setting measures 1.3cm x 1.2cm.
The band is 0.7mm wide.

Every piece of Graceful Deviant jewellery is carefully crafted in Sussex, England. It's my mission to use high quality, sustainable materials coupled with traditional silversmithing techniques to create unique jewels for wild & adventurous souls.
The silver I source is 100% recycled and fully hallmarked at the London Assay Office when appropriate giving customers full confidence.
