I had painted the quay from every angle but never from the front so I drove all the way around until I reached the other side. It was well worth the trip as I really enjoyed painting this scene.

Full description

As a landlubber I had to drive around the several towns and villages to cross the river and appear on the other side (30 miles or so) in order to paint this….if only I could fly! The Georgian front at Burnham is very attractive and has nice pubs, tea rooms and four sailing clubs. Also, the sea wall heads off in both directions, one to an extensive walk all around the sea wall to Maldon and the other way takes you along by the deep water marina to Creeksea and other villages and eventually to South Woodham Ferrers.

The first photo gives an idea of what it might look like framed, but it is not sent out mounted or framed.

This is an original watercolour on acid free paper. It measures 12 x 6 inches which is not a standard size for framing but any painting is greatly enhanced by a good frame and it doesn’t have to be too expensive.

They will be posted in a cello bag and stiffening, using first class signed for post. I use recycled or recyclable packaging where possible
