Thanks so much for your support, Kate
I love seeing birds in the garden and feeding them but often birdfeeders don't look very interesting, so I thought I'd make something a bit more fun to have in the garden. The shape of this was inspired by all the lovely pumpkins and swashes that have been around this Autumn.

Unique handmade pottery thrown on my potter's wheel.
This birdfeeder is made from stoneware which means it is very durable and frost resistant. The clay gives a biscuit speckled colour which shows through the glaze in places. It was first thrown then left until it is leather hard, the holes were carved and I add my makers mark. Once dry it is bisque fired then glazed and fired a second time at 1220 oC.
All glazes are lead free. Two glazes were applied, mat cream and turquoise. Where these glazes meet they interact to make a range of colours. There is added texture in this layer and even bubbles.
Diameter of birdfeeder - 12cm
Height - 14cm
The birdfeeder also comes with a copper metal hook for hanging it up.
All my pottery is made by me in small batches. There may be variations in size, colour and shape making each piece delightfully unique.
