A lapwing reels across a windy sky in its desolate moorland home. This new lino print is inspired by Emily Brontë’s novel Wuthering Heights in which there’s imagery of Cathy as a lapwing and Heathcliff as a cuckoo (spoiler alert!) I’ve printed an edition of 25 in an inky black and this print is my first to be included in the Artist Support Pledge (see below).
The print measures approximately 30.5cm x 40cm and is printed on an antique Columbian Press in water based ink on Zerkall print paper measuring around 38cm x 51cm. It will be sent carefully rolled in tissue inside a cardboard tube (please message me if you’d rather it to be sent flat). It would make a delightful present for any Brontë fan or birdwatcher.
I’m donating £5 from the sale of each print to The Brontë Parsonage Museum.
The Artist Support Pledge was invented by artist Matthew Burrows in response to many artists struggling financially due to the current pandemic. Once I’ve made £1000 of sales from my included work, I promise to spend £200 on other artists’ work.
