Hello, my name is Alexandra and I am the printmaker and artist behind MegaLilyDesign. All of my linocut prints are handprinted by me in my studio. Thank you for visiting my Folksy shop, I hope that you find something that you like.
There is no additional postage charge across my shop at checkout. Orders under £100 are sent Royal Mail 48hr Tracked and orders over £100 are sent using DPD. I aim to post all orders on the next working day and always within three working days.
Unfortunately I have decided to no longer ship overseas due to the complexities and costs.
I was so amazed by the beautiful rose hips in my mum’s garden that I was inspired to create "Hips" in response. I was amazed to find how many potential uses there are for rosehips too, not least simply displaying and drawing them.
You have 14 days, from receipt, to notify the seller if you wish to cancel your order or exchange an item.
Unless faulty, the following types of items are non-refundable: items that are personalised, bespoke or made-to-order to your specific requirements; items which deteriorate quickly (e.g. food), personal items sold with a hygiene seal (cosmetics, underwear) in instances where the seal is broken; digital items.
Please note that if your order is being posted outside mainland UK, you (or the recipient) may have to pay customs or VAT charges and a handling fee. The seller is not responsible for any charges or fees that may incur.
Full description
"Hips" is created using the relief printmaking method of reduction linocut printing. As each print is created by hand there may be tiny variations which add to the individual beauty of each original artwork. "Hips" is printed onto Kitakata 36gsm printmaking paper from the Awagami factory in Japan.
Reduction linocut printing is a method of relief printmaking that involves transferring or drawing a design in reverse onto the lino surface. The lino is then cut away in stages using mainly U and V shaped gouges. Paper is placed face down onto the inked block and hand burnished or pressed to lift each layer of colour, building up to the final print. As the lino block is destroyed in the process, the edition of prints is final and no further prints can ever be made creating a very special series of prints.
