The Sisters is inspired by alchemical imagery of the sun and moon that explores duality, fertility and symbiosis. You can't have light without a little darkness.

Full description

A linocut on handmade Nepalese paper of a sun and moon dancing in star pattern dresses. The Sisters is printed on a very delicate washi paper to enhance the details in the linocut.

This print is completely original and handmade using traditional linocut techniques. The design is hand drawn onto lino before being carved to create a unique linocut block. Each block is then printed by hand burnishing with archival inks onto fine paper.

The nature of lino as a medium means that the final results are unique to each finished print. Differences in the amount of ink, the pressure of the hand-burnishing technique I use and even the grain of the paper can change each work subtly. This leaves a unique connection between the final work and the artist.

This print is on handmade paper with a deckled edge. It's 20cm x 26cm.

They are delivered unframed but covered in protective packaging and backed by strong card.
