Hi, a warm welcome to the Dragon Art Glass shop on Folksy. I'm Andrea, a full time glass addict (oops, artist!) living and working in the valleys of South Wales. I've had a little shop here on Folksy since about 2016, but can also often be found at local craft markets and in my studio in Senghenydd.
I always aim to send out orders as quickly as possible, (often within a day), but please be aware that I post only via Royal Mail.
To make things easier for you, I can gladly gift wrap any presents, add a hand-written note and send them directly to the recipient at no extra charge – just leave me a note and details when you checkout.
If you have any questions, then feel free to reach out and get in touch. Thank you for looking (and if you should decide to purchase , a huge thank you!)
I've been making glass beads now for 12 years. Cute animals are a progression of beads - and robins are ever popular.
I love the fact that every one, although made in the same way, turns out different.
Oh, and check out the snow robin variation, also in my shop - made from white glass!
You have 14 days, from receipt, to notify the seller if you wish to cancel your order or exchange an item.
Unless faulty, the following types of items are non-refundable: items that are personalised, bespoke or made-to-order to your specific requirements; items which deteriorate quickly (e.g. food), personal items sold with a hygiene seal (cosmetics, underwear) in instances where the seal is broken; digital items.
Please note that if your order is being posted outside mainland UK, you (or the recipient) may have to pay customs or VAT charges and a handling fee. The seller is not responsible for any charges or fees that may incur.
Full description
These cute, cheeky robins begin life as glass rods - that are actually made on the island of Murano in Italy. I melt the glass rods in the flame of my torch
I've been making this kind of robin for several years - each one turns out different - its a natural part of the process. This year I'm mainly making the body of them from a gorgeous transparent light amber coloured glass which should help them reflect and catch the light better if they are hung on a Christmas tree.
Once made, they have to spend several hours cwtshed up in the kiln, to allow the stresses that build up in the glass during the making process to relax, and anneal, then cool.
I then clean them and put them on their decorated wire hangers, and add ribbon.
Oh, and they each have a bell attached - so they are jingle robins!
Such cute little chaps to hang in your window, on your plants or to add to your Christmas decor.
