When I ran a set of workshops on traditional textile crafts they were so popular it surprised me! It was fun share the technique of this simple craft, so I have combined my beginner’s booklet with some of my treasured vintage Laura Ashley cottons for a really special introduction to this craft. I made all sorts from them, and this is my last box of 'never used vintage' pieces. Although I treasure them I doubt I will be making any more patchwork quilts from them and it seems a shame to keep them hidden in storage; so I have put together some small packs to go with my lesson booklet.
Other colours are available - some shown here too- but just ask. I can also make a listing for a smaller parcel without stuffing-posted in an envelope, which will be lower priced.

Everything you need to get started in my beginner kit for “English Paper Piecing” traditional patchwork; a little craft treat! The kit includes 30 hexagonal pieces of hand“fussy cut” vintage 1976 Laura Ashley fabric (4 matching sets of 6 and 6 different single ones). This is enough for a rectangle (approx 20x30 cm-maybe a cushion front) or a hoop art piece or for any project, as you wish. It will also make into 2 larger or 4 smaller pincushions or flower appliques with photo instructions for these included. pleas select the colourway you want or contact me for a custom selection.
The kit comes in a strong reusable box for project storage or for gift giving. It includes my workshop lesson booklet with full photo instructions for the technique and both pincushions, including some background information about this lovely pastime. The pincushions are a traditional hexagon flower shape and /or a mini "hexi shape".
Also included are 30 die cut card templates (with punched holes for easy pinning and easier removing once finished) and a window template.The templates can be reused a few times if removed carefully.Plus white tacking cotton, coloured sewing thread, a needle and pins in a replica vintage packet and some filling.
I have a limited amount of this fabric-but blues,golden browns, greens, greys and mauves with pink are also available-just ask.
