Lin Cable thread is by many considered THE best thread for sewing leather. It is exceptionally strong and has a smooth, non-sticky surface with a subtle sheen.
Fil Au Chinois use their own, non-standard sizes; they are called 832, 632, 532, 432, and 332 with 332 being the thickest and 832 the thinnest.
This listing is for one 50g reel of the No. 532 thread. The manufacturer gives a diameter of 0.57mm for this No. 532 thread.
Lin Cable is lightly waxed, cabled linen thread. Being cabled means that it has been twisted twice; this makes the thread excptionally strong and evenly round.
Linen thread in general and this one in particular can be used everywhere where a strong thread is needed, including not only fine leatherworks but also beading, bookbinding, puppets on strings, knotting, and many more.
