When I go on holiday I like to paint postcards to send to friends and family, and this is a collection of those pictures. There was so much to paint and so little time.

Full description

We had a lovely holiday in the north of Scotland with its wonderful wildlife and interesting history. We enjoyed beautiful scenery and fantastic beaches where seals were frequently found bobbing in the waves. Sitting at Dunnet Head and looking across to the Orkney Islands, I felt I could reach out and touch them although the seething waters of the Pentland Firth would have to be crossed first.

I could see the houses on the cliffs across the bay from our house by the beach at South Keiss.

There were birds on the beach all the time, oystercatchers, sanderlings, sandpipers and more, all scratching a living along the shoreline.

On the cliffs, sea thrift grew from little gaps and cracks in the rocks and it clung on in the face of the wind and sea spray. Armeria maritima is its Latin name and it just loves to be beside the sea….a bit like me really!

This is a 4 card pack. The cards are A6 and all scenes have been painted by me.

They will be sent out in a cello bag I use recycled or recyclable packaging where possible.
