Full description
The colour palette for this panel is, blue, white, grey and brown with a zingy orange for the feet and beak as a sharp contrast. I have mixed a variety of smooth and textured glass which compliment each other.
The bird is made of opaque or semi-opaque glass as a contrast to the transparent blue sky. This helps to 'ground' the gull, making sure it remains the main focus in the piece. A jump ring eye completes his expression.
Light shining through the panel reflects the texture and colours beautifully as shown in some of the photos.
This panel is made with cut glass and copperfoil but I have also framed it with a lead came edge. The addition of the lead surround makes it a very sturdy, strong piece and gives the copperfoil panel a pleasing substantial weight.
Hooks have been soldered on the top for ease of hanging in your window.
