A rich blend of silver-glitter, hot pink and black give this handcrafted polymer clay brooch a sumptuous elegance. The brooch resembles a stylised star, with eight small diamonds resting on the edges of a square body.

The glittering colour palette would look great against a black or charcoal background, or if you’re feeling really bold why not match up the hot pinks! The brooch will rock any daytime outfit, and sparkle like the milky way in the evening light.

Each element of the brooch has been cut from handmade canes, which I slice and lay out to create random patterns. No two pieces are ever the same! Once the brooch has been constructed and fired, it is sanded and painted with a semi-gloss varnish.

The brooch will be wrapped in tissue paper and placed in an organza bag, ready to gift or keep for yourself!

The design for this brooch came about while I was playing with polymer clay off-cuts and my quadrilateral cutters. Without planning it, I designed my own ‘stars’ by simply placing small diamonds on the corners of a square base.

The blend of silver-glitter, black and hot pink lends itself really well to the square star design as it glitters like a night star. The colour palette was in fact designed to look like my dad’s favourite sweets: liquorice allsorts!
