Hi, my name is Charlotte and I design and make unique, statement jewellery and accessories in polymer clay.

Polymer clay is a terrifically versatile material. It's lightweight, durable, and responds well to blending, which allows me to create texture through colour and pattern. I love mixing clay to create one-off canes, which I cut and blend before modelling to my own designs. I really enjoy experimenting with new designs, crafting ‘prototypes’ from clay off-cuts. I'm inspired by a number of styles and techniques, including Nerikome, millefiori, majolica and mid-century modern.

Every piece I sell is unique, and completely handmade in my small studio in the basement of my home in Cardiff. The process begins by creating 'canes', which I slice and lay out in patterns on a sheet of polymer clay. This sheet is then pressed to create an even surface. I use metal cutters to cut out each piece of my design, which I then play around with to get the look I'm after for each item I'm making. Once I'm happy with the end result, I bake the clay. Each piece is then sanded and varnished. Finishing pieces off might require drilling, threading, or simply applying fixings with jeweller's glue.
