Mum made a quilt very similar to this for us to use in the caravan. We use it on cold evenings outside, as a picnic blanket to pop in the car in case we stop somewhere and as a throw on one of the sofas. We thought we'd make another for somebody else to enjoy!

Full description
This patchwork quilt combines many nautical and seaside themed fabrics in blue, turquoise, coral and white patterned squares. Motifs include shells, anchors, seabirds and sea creatures. The patchwork squares are large enough for each fabric to be appreciated individually, and they combine wonderfully as an overall piece. Once the large squares were pieced together, seagulls were appliquéd over them to give extra character. This quilt was then fleece-backed in a coordinating coral colour for extra softness and warmth. The freehand quilting pattern also ties into the theme, with large breaking waves across the quilt. This quilt has many uses - for cooler evenings outside, as a picnic blanket, in the car, as a throw for a chair or sofa, when watching TV, and would suit many spaces - bedrooms and living areas. It would make a lovely gift for anyone who loves the beach or has a nautical-themed room.
