Here is a painting of a starling that has been hand drawn /painted in coloured inks and pencils...I have tried to capture the beautiful changing colours of the birds feathers in this picture ..stunning colours !....to give the painting a 3D affect I have included artificial pine tree branches with real pine cones ..all in a shadow box frame which measures approx.10ins x 10ins ....I have taken photos of the painting without the frame to give some idea of the colours ...as the painting is behind glass once framed it is hard to capture the true colours in a photo as glass causes reflections ....this really is a very unique picture !

The starling is a very common and very tame little bird around here in Newquay in Cornwall . .the male bird feathers have such beautiful colours which change with the light..spotted a lot in a pine tree close to my home ..(I have used fallen pine cones from this tree in this piece)....this has been the inspiration for this painting
