Merry Christmas one and all. My shop is now closed until the New Year. Thank you everyone who has shopped with me throughout 2023.

I started making vases, and carving their surface. I love to work outside and as I worked with them, I saw the the light was shining through the carvings, and started working on the idea of tea light holders.

As you can see from the photo, the light is beautifully diffused through the carved porcelain. My inspiration was ripples of water.

I make this star tealight holder. I carve each one of these, and the nature of porcelain means that the candle light is diffused through the carvings. This is a particularly difficult shape to make and is more prone to failure, which makes each one even more special when it survives the firings!

Each star is approximately 8.5cm point to point and 4.5cms high. As each one is made individually, these are approximate measurements, but you can have an idea of scale in relation to the tea light. This is quite small, and the tea light fits snuggly inside.

These images are representative of what you will receive, but it won't look exactly the same.

I love to make things: I am not so keen on taking photos, so I don't photograph each one I make!

These are glazed inside and out so that you can wipe out wax should you need to, and to reflect the shine of the tealight flame. This particular example has a very pale blue glaze, but is still translucent. Each item is sent out to you "signed for" to ensure it arrives with you safely.
