There's a little rose bush at the back of the garden which is usually obscured by more vigorous neighbours, but this year we've made sure it can be seen and admired. The flowers are just so lovely! The buds, the blooms, the scent!
And so of course I had to try and share them, and make something that can be enjoyed all year round. Hope you like it...

Full description
Hand stitched brooch featuring a deep red rose.
This little brooch was embroidered with strands of thread in various reds and greens onto a stone coloured cotton background. The piece was then finished with an edge of soft red velvet ribbon which frames it and gives it some structure.
It is based on a little rose bush in our garden which has been particularly lovely this year. I love how the velvety petals seem to change during the day as the sun moves across the sky, from bright vivid red to a deeper colour.
I took the photo in natural light to show the colours accurately but please bear in mind that screens do vary. This brooch is about 3 cms x nearly 4.5 cms and has a brooch pin back with a safety catch for security. I'll send it out in a little white organza bag and it's ready for posting.
