Welcome to Festival folk dolls!
People often ask me how I’m both a midwife and doll maker and this is how.......

It wasn't really until I had my children that I looked at the dolls on offer in shops and I was kind of shocked. So many of the girl dolls had insane amounts of makeup and the boys were all action hero’s. What if I wanted my girls to have dolls that weren't an unobtainable portrayal of beauty? Where could I find dolls that looked like boys and girls instead of adults? Well I headed to a top London you shop in search of this but little did I find..

I decided search around and had some online (you tube ) inspiration and I started making my own!! Festival folk dolls were born! My dolls are down to earth and like mucking about outside, camping and wearing cosy knitted handmade natural clothes. They have faces that look like our children, innocent sweet and imperfectly beautiful. I love bringing new life into the world be it new born babies or new Festival folk dolls ❤️

Meet Mika,

Mika is a hand-painted makeunder doll designed to encourage imaginative play. She was a second-hand Bratz doll who has been given a new lease on life as a unique, age-appropriate Festival folk doll. Mika has beautiful brown eyes and dark brown hair with a tiny fringe.

She has enjoyed a thorough spa treatment and had her hair detangled, washed and trimmed. She has been cleaned and sterilised. Her face has been repainted by hand and sealed to give her a fresh, natural look. Mika has a cute outfit, including a hand knitted blue Rowan tweed cardigan and matching floral skirt and brown silicone pop on and off boots. Bratz dolls have foot nubs and shoes pop on and off to change.
