I love all fabrics and embroidery but especially the feel and texture of 100% merino wool, which has been felted.
I use the process of wet and dry needle felting to create this base fabric from which to work using carefully sourced vintage blankets.
It's a messy and time consuming process but then I have the joy of choosing the wonderful vibrant colour combinations to make my bunting.
Adorning the individual pennants next is immensely satisfying. I use tiny seed beads and re-purposed beads from vintage jewellery. I make tiny woolly flowers and hearts using offcuts.
Every piece I make is individual and unique and I hope you will treasure it as a family heirloom and use it time and time again.

My bunting is made from carefully sourced vintage 100% wool blankets
I “felt” the wool using a hot cycle to agitate the fibres. This creates a dense tough fabric which has a wonderful texture and feel. I cut pennants which I then embellish with similarly produced felted wool letters, hand embroidery and sparkling seed beads.
The end result is vibrant bunting suitable to mark any number of special and festive occasions. The bunting is not weatherproof but does look particularly charming hanging in the sunshine!
These three colourful buntings are made from pink and purple wool with turquoise and white accents. They can be connected to make one very long piece of bunting although I think look nice as three, strung separately. This is a charming gift for new home owners, AirB&B hosts or those young people returning home after a period of absence.
Each pennant measures 14cm x 12.5cm and is lined on the reverse. The springy fabric cord is cut with a generous allowance for ease of hanging, and is made from recycled tee shirts!
