My name is Nikki
I have worked with textiles and embroidery, for years, but I especially love wool, which I “discovered” some years ago when I took early retirement from the NHS. At that same time I moved to a small village in beautiful Somerset where I now have time to indulge myself with vintage wool blankets, embroidery and beading. I’m never happier than when I’m wielding barbed needles!
My creations bring my love of old wool and vibrant colours together.
I used to do small delicate embroidered framed pictures, but now I have burst through those constraints and a lot of my projects are huge wall hangings (no frames).
Make of that what you will!
Now I make bunting and cascades (vertical bunting!) from 100% wool vintage blankets, which I source online.
I “felt” the wool using a hot cycle to agitate the fibres. This creates a dense tough fabric which has a wonderful texture and feel. I cut pennants which I then embellish with similarly produced letters or shapes, hand embroidery and seed beads.
The end result is vibrant bunting suitable to mark any number of special occasions.
The bunting will be lovingly wrapped and posted to you within five days of payment, and be ready to hang immediately.
