I love feathers and am always collecting and drawing them. I love to experiment in my work and recently learnt how to make drypoint prints. I love the way this technique allows me to translate my drawings into prints whilst retaining the different mark making techniques I use.

A beautiful fluffy feather drypoint print on watercolour paper.
Using my drawings of feathers as a guide I created the plate for this print from the plastic of an old picture frame. I scratched my drawing into the plate before printing it up onto watercolour paper, which takes the ink beautifully and shows up the embossed edges at the edge of the plate. I've hand torn the edges of the watercolour paper too to emphasise the fluffiness of the feather (and because I love torn paper edges!) Although they're taken from the same plate each print is unique as the plate is re-inked for each print. I have three of these available, each slightly different so please let me know if there's a particular one you want.
These prints are unmounted and unframed but will be posted out to you with a protective cardboard backing to keep them safe and prevent damage. The actual print is 15 x 10 cm and the paper is about 22 x 18 cm
