Full description
This little sitting bird measures approx 7.5cm high and 6.5cm wide (3” x 2.5”) It is made from white earthenware clay. After firing I decorate the bird with acrylic paint, each feather mark is a single brush stroke. I used to paint folk art images on pots and out of all the animals I used I was fascinated with the plumage of colourful cockerels, so instead of painting a picture on the side of pots, I thought I would make a bird and tried to replicate the beautiful feathers with this painting technique that I have developed over the years. The bird has been varnished to protect the decoration. As this is a painted item please keep out of strong sunlight for prolonged amounts of time.
