My Folksy shop is closed at present. If you would like to see more of my work, or if you would like the details of galleries that stock my ceramics please contact me. Every piece is different and is made by hand - so while I explore different themes and colour variations, each one is unique. Just click on the 'contact' button above and I'll get back to you. Thanks for visiting Judy Adams Ceramics!
The Lucienne Collection is named after the textile designer Lucienne Day whose work in the 1950s influenced a wide area of design. Her textile ‘Calyx’ was created for the Festival of Britain in 1951 and is still much admired today. She explored many design sources, but my Lucienne Day favourites, such as Calyx, are from the natural world. My own designs feature a nod to cow parsley, marsh grass, vine tendrils and country landscapes.

Priced for the pair, these slim black stoneware pieces go together 'in conversation' and though designed to catch the eye just as they are, they could hold a couple of dried grass stems or a lightweight single bloom. I designed them to stand at a slight angle, and each has bands of pastel shades against the natural finish of the black stoneware clay. Lightly glazed inside. Esme has sgraffito decoration of marsh grass motifs, and Esme has sgraffito decoration of tendrils and lines. They look good with other pieces from the Lucienne Collection or Simple Earth Collection as shown in the final image. For urban or country interiors. 16cms high approx. The price is for the pair - they are friends and don't like to be separated!
