The form of this bowl was mainly inspired by the unique black marks in the chestnut's grain. I wanted to incorporate as much of this feature as possible and be able to see it on both the inside and outside edges.

Full description
This bowl has been hand-turned from a piece of well seasoned chestnut to a bowl measuring 12.5cm in diameter and 5cm in height. Chestnut is a hardwood and is traditionally thought to be a symbol of life. This bowl is perfect as a decoration or for holding small trinkets or keys. This piece of chestnut has some interesting black figuring which helps provide character. This bowl has been finished with food safe oil and a surface coat of beeswax.
