My interest in vases relates both to function, in displaying arrangements of flowers or other material, and to their sculptural potential. I enjoy designing a vase where the appeal will be in its sculptural form, surface treatment and colour. This are supplemented on this vase with a makers seal but the main impacts derive from sumptuous blue-purple streaky glaze runs and the orange-brown iron oxide vertical splash . Alternatively this oriental-shape vase could be an elegant functional vessel and help the owner to create an original and eye-catching flower display.

Full description
An elegantstoneware vase showing distinc colourt variations reflecting the melting and downward flow of the glaze, its thickness and its interaction with the clay minerals and the iron oxide decoration. This wheel thrown vase will add a perfect accent to any home. Works great for showing off a bouquet of flowers or display just on its own.
The vase was made with a UK stoneware and, after biscuit firing, the glaze was applied in several layers. Finally the piece wasglaze fired to 1300C. This makes it impermeable and very durable.

- As with all my pottery, items are food, oven, microwave, and dishwasher safe.
- The vase measures approximately 22cm tall and 8cm wide.
