I wanted to design a comfortable scarf for a child which would not fall off. I trialed many designs :too heavy a head, too many legs, wings.....all got in the way. Also, it had to be able to be knitted by beginners and not just experienced knitters.

How to knit a dragon cowl/scarf

Dragons are magical beasts.

From the iconic Welsh red dragon to all those wonderful creatures in Disney,s “How to train your dragon”, they fascinate both young and old.

The tail of the dragon scarf gets tucked through it’s mouth keeping the wearer snug and warm, without the scarf falling off.

This dragon scarf pattern is knitted flat using two knitting needles.

Beginning at the back of the head and working towards the tail, it is knitted in one pieces except for the ears and eyes which are knitted separately and sewn on at the end,

Choose a super snuggly yarn for this scarf and knit to a loose gauge.

The listing is for a pdf pattern which will be emailed to your PayPal account, and not the scarf.

Please note that pdf patterns are not refundable.
