Item details

Alchemical in nature, the process of electroforming enables extended preservation of these real ivy leaves in a beautiful shell of copper.

Suitable for everyday wear, this pendant is supplied on an adjustable brown waxed (vegan friendly!) cord necklace. Length is adjusted via a sliding bead allowing wear from choker to matinee length.

Approx size of leaf - 55mm long x 48mm wide
Full length of cord - 26 inches
Finish - Antiqued copper.

While the copper imparts added strength to leaves, care should be taken not to bend or stress the metal during storage or wear.
I also advise removal before prolonged exposure to water.

Often referred to as a living metal due to its capacity to naturally change its colour over time, Copper is one of the three oldest known metals, and occurs naturally in its workable form. Highly conductive, it is prized holistically for its perceived health-supporting benefits.
Please be aware that due to its evolving nature, the final patina and finish will change over time.
Applied sealant will wear away with continued use so resealing is advised on a regular basis.
Copper can impart an oxidised tint to some skin. This is in no way harmful, and should simply wash away.

Ivy symbolises good luck, longevity and fidelity (traditionally brides included it in their bouquets) A tenacious little evergreen plant, it will survive in the most challenging of conditions.
Hedera both travels and binds - spreading as far as it is allowed, and hugging everything it can on the way.
Always reaching for the light, it symbolically represents the wandering soul seeking enlightenment, hope in dark times and eternal life.
As it has always been one of my favourite plants, it was to me the natural choice for the first of my available organic offerings. Electroforming is a lengthy process to preserve these beautifully shaped leaves, but the final unique result is well worth the effort.
