With a background in the creative arts, I have dipped in and out of many different disciplines over the years - from fine art to sculpture, public arts to jewellery making, chain maille, silversmithing and more traditional crafts practices including knitting, sewing, weaving and crochet.
Quiet Earth was born from a combination of a desire to create with a lifelong passion for the beauty of nature and the outdoors.
I was brought up to understand the importance of recycling since the very early 80's, but over the last few years I have increasingly felt that reduction of resource use is equal in importance to recycling. Because of this, wherever possible I create my jewellery utilising a combination of repurposed / harvested materials, found objects, traditional techniques, alchemy (electroforming in copper, brass and silver) and stones - be they beach pebbles or pretty crystals.
I am committed to ensuring that my items are created, packaged and dispatched with minimal environmental impact. Due to this, I use recycled or recyclable materials for packaging, and do not provide printed care instructions - please refer to the item details section on listings for individual care instructions.
