I have five children and since being very small, they have always loved to have a bag. Bags for popping to the shops or library, bags for packing up pretend picnics, bags for long car journeys and bags for our nature walks and museum trips.
I made this little bag with nature walks in mind. I live with my family in Rousay - one of the Orkney Islands and we spend a lot of our time outside exploring and learning about the world around us.
The colours of this bag are the colours that surround me in Orkney in the spring - beautiful blue skies and blue sea and yellow everywhere. Sunshine, kingcups, celandine, daffodils and dandelions filling the landscape and marking the beginning of happy spring and summer days.
This little bag is perfect for carrying a little notebook for drawing wildflowers, or for filling with shells, feathers and other little treasures.
