I have always had a thing for the lovely Japanese cross –over aprons but couldn’t justify the cost of the linen to make one for myself. Being on a journey of becoming more environmentally aware, I decided to have a go at making one out of an old men’s shirt. My pattern has taken a bit of tweaking but I am very happy with the end result. I would like to introduce you to my Re-loved aprons.
All my Re-loved aprons are made from either 100% cotton, 100% linen or linen/cotton blend shirts from local charity shops which are all checked and given a good wash before use. Environmentally friendly and helping charity = double brownie points!

This fun and funky upcycled apron used to be a man's shirt.
Made from 100% cotton in red, blue and white check and a cool moose embroidery on the front, it would make a fab gift for the baker, crafter or gardener in your life - or maybe just keep it for yourself!.
The comfy cross-over straps are made from the shirt front and the handy pocket with repurposed tab is made from the shirt sleeves – nothing is wasted.
It measures approx. 70cm from top to bottom at the front and would be perfect for someone who normally takes a Medium size (for size purposes, the model is 5'6 and is size 12-14 UK)
Please remember that these aprons are re-loved and may have a few blemishes. On the plus side, they are super cute, are helping the environment and charities and are not likely to shrink.
