I have always had a thing for the lovely Japanese cross –over aprons but couldn’t justify the cost of the linen to make one for myself. Being on a journey of becoming more environmentally aware, I decided to have a go at making one out of an old men’s shirt. My pattern has taken a bit of tweaking but I am very happy with the end result. I would like to introduce you to my Re-loved aprons.
All my Re-loved aprons are made from either 100% cotton, 100% linen or linen/cotton blend shirts from local charity shops which are all checked and given a good wash before use. Environmentally friendly and helping charity = double brownie points!

Show Mother Earth a bit of love with a RELoved apron.
Made from a men’s small 100% pale blue stripe linen casual shirt (I am a size 12-14 and this fits comfortably over a fleece), this apron is a great cover up for all your housework, gardening, painting and baking needs.
Measures approx. 70cm from top to bottom at the front.
The cross-over straps made from the shirt front are a comfy fit and the handy pocket with repurposed buttons is made from the shirt sleeves – nothing is wasted.
Please remember that these aprons are re-loved and may have a few blemishes. On the plus side, they are super cute, are helping the environment and charities and are not likely to shrink.
