This beautiful set of 4 rustic coasters has been upcycled from reclaimed wood and will brighten up any table. Each coaster has a tree of life symbol pyrographed on it. They would make a perfect gift for a number of occasions such as a housewarming, 5th Wedding Anniversary or as a Mothers Day gift.

Each coaster is approximately 10 cm x 10 cm with an approximate depth of 1.5 cm.

All items to the UK mainland are shipped 1st Class Royal Mail.

I am a firm believer in recycling. My items are made from reclaimed wood wherever possible and I often recycle the packaging materials that the items are dispatched in.

To make these coasters I firstly glued several pieces of wood together and when dry cut them to suitable sizes. I then sanded them by hand to produce a smooth finish. Each coaster was slightly chamfered. A template was applied to the wood and transferred using carbon paper. The image was then completed by using pyrography. The coasters were coated in natural Shellac and finished with coats of lacquer, which is heat and water resistant. Each coaster has 4 small plastic buffer pads, on the back to prevent them from scratching surfaces.

The colour may differ slightly to the photographs due to the lighting at the time the photographs were taken.

The Tree of Life represents growth as a tree starts out as a small, delicate sapling and grows over a long time into a giant, strong tree. Also, it represents one's individuality as trees are all unique with their branches sprouting at different points and in different directions. It symbolises rebirth as trees lose their leaves and appear to be dead during winter, but new buds appear and new, fresh leaves grow during the spring. The Tree of Life is also a symbol for peacefulness and relaxation.
