Hello and welcome to my Folksy shop! I've been making for others since 2013 and if you'd like to see what my customers have said about my work since then (before I opened up here on Folksy), you can read more than 1,000 reviews on my web site: http://www.thecrimsonrabbit.co.uk/ (click 'Reviews' on the bar at the top of the page).
In addition to the UK, I'm happy to ship most items to Europe, the US, Canada, Japan and Australia - just message me for a shipping quotation.
Many of the pieces I make are made to order and the shipping time is a 'worse case scenario' estimate - I will often make and send items quicker than indicated, although things do sometimes slow down at busy times. If you want something urgently, just message me and I'll confirm if I can meet your deadline. Some items over £30 are posted via the 'signed for' Royal Mail service automatically, but if you'd like to make sure you have this on your order, just message me.
I'm more active on Instagram than anywhere else: https://www.instagram.com/the_crimson_rabbit/ but you can always find me online elsewhere: my blog is here: www.thecrimsonrabbit.co.uk, my facebook page here: www.facebook.com/thecrimsonrabbitpage and my Pinterest addiction is evidenced here: http://www.pinterest.com/crimsonrabbit/

I've hand knit this fine gauge cowl in the round to my own design, using a very pretty cable knit stitch that creates a pretty feather like design throughout the length of the cowl.
The yarn I've used comes from a fibre and yarn mad fellow seller who hand dyes her yarn in Hythe, close to the Kent coast. She calls this colour 'sunshine on a rainy day', a rich golden shade with a green cast to it. The 80/20 merino and silk yarn is incredibly soft and has the unmistakable sheen of silk, which makes the golden colour glint beautifully in the light.
The cowl is 15" / 38cm high and the circumference is 24" / 61cm. As inelegant as it might sound, the cowl is designed to simply plonk over your head and go - no wondering about how to arrange it or wrap it, it naturally falls in pretty folds that feel heavenly against your skin. It would look great worn with a coat, but equally good when worn as an accessory with a shirt or blouse.
If you like the design of the cowl but would like it in another colour, convo me to discuss what's possible. Because of the fine gauge of this piece, it will take me a few weeks to knit it, once I've got hold of the yarn.
The shipping costs shown for this item include the 'signed for' service in the UK and a tracking service for International orders. Please note that I do automatically refund postal cost overages for international items.
As you'll see from my shop, I love to hand knit cowls and shawls. This particular cowl brings together the luxury of a beautiful shawl yarn, but the ease and wearability of a simple cowl.
