Full description
The design of this silver botanical necklace was inspired by the uncurling of a fern as it expands into its fully formed leaf and is probably one of my favourite necklaces. To me, ferns are inspirational throughout all seasons, from a tight ball emerging from the ground to the fully formed leaf and even the dead curling leaf found in Winter.
This necklace would make such a lovely gift for a nature lover or a gardener.
The necklace was created from sterling silver and I have set an amazonite gemstone at the top. The gemstone amazonite is believed to have a soothing and calming influence on the brain and nervous system which I feel perfectly compliments the soothing effects of nature.
I have applied a patina to the silver to darken it and enhance the detail of the design. The necklace measures 28 x 15 mm, this includes the amazonite gemstone which measures 8 x 6 mm. The chain measures 20 inches and the necklace has been hallmarked by the Edinburgh Assay Office.
