I wanted to paint a happy and decorative bird, and what transpired was this rather plump fantastical representation of a hummingbird. Apparently Aztecs wore hummingbird talismans as symbols of vigour and energy and so I hope some of that same spirit is reflected in this ‘stone’.

Full description
A pretty and decorative painted ‘stone’ that has been handcrafted from a hard plaster, painted in cheerful pastel acrylics on a dark blue background and finished with a Matt varnish. It’s about 14cm long, 10cm wide and 2.5cm high. A piece of thin cork has been applied to the back, to protect your furniture.
