These hearts are cut from beech plywood, and I have spent much time sanding them and giving several coats of varnish. The result is a satin finish which shows off the grain and brings the colour to life.
Each heart hangs on an invisible nylon thread on which a small clear crystal catches the light as the hearts move around each other.

This mobile will make an unusual Valentines gift. There are people who would apreciate a lasting gift, one which can be displayed throughout the year, instead of the more traditional Valentines tokens. This one will give periods of quiet relaxation at the end of a busy day. Pair it with a bottle of wine or some really good coffee and you can give your your favourite person a gift that will bring lasting comfort. (Remember to replenish the wine or coffee now and then!)

The hearts are 8cm wide and 8cm long

I love wood in it's natural state. There is beauty in the grain and the colour, so when I found these hearts, I couldn't resist! When varnished, the beauty of the wood really shows. I don't have the skills or equipment to cut the wood myself, but I love being able to finish it when someone else has cut the blanks.
