One of my many wooden ducks is this very popular design. It is decorated with beautiful red poppies and finished with a faux pearl necklace and cute red bow and made with gorgeous bamboo root.

The wooden ducks come to me blank (or naked...) and are all individually hand carved by a small group of talented Indonesian people - I am VERY proud to say that they are 100% fair trade. This is highly expressed by my supplier!

Perfect for your poppy themed rooms, and a great gift for mum. They stand at approx 25cm tall and all will all vary slightly in size and shape - this is because they are handmade from start to finish.

The inspiration for this particular wooden duck is actually my own mom. I still live at home and my mom and I are really very close, I wanted to make something that represents her.

She has a lovely little collection of wooden ducks which she is always wanting to add too - I often find some stock ducks missing and discover them in my living room! Anyway, with my parents kitchen being poppies and - at the time - recently painted poppy red, I could think of nothing more fitting than to add some bright poppies to my lovely wooden ducks.
