The goldcrest is a gorgeous little bird and it was only a matter of time before I got round to making one!!

Full description
I have hand carved this goldcrest from 10mm thick lime. It has been painted with artists acrylics and has painted wire legs allowing it to sit on a piece of branch. It is all mounted on a spalted beech panel and the piece is 20cm x 10cm (not including the hanging loop) It has been finished with wax to give a soft shine and is hung from a 3 coloured plait of embroidery thread which I have made to match.
