Knitting pattern for a butterfly baby blanket. A swarm, of butterflies flying backwards and forwards. Did you know that a swarm of butterflies is known as a kaleidoscope ?
The colour work for the butterfly pattern is worked in slip stitch (mosaic work), where you work with one colour at a time, easier than fairisle knitting and a neater back to the knitting too.
Suggested yarn:
2 x 100 gram balls of Stylecraft, Tweedy DK (74% acrylic, 26% cotton; 100g/284yds) in your choice of colour (bracken , moss or thistle)
3 x 50 gram balls Yarnstories, Fine merino DK (100% wool; 50g /131yds) in cream
The Sample shown in the photos has been knit in Bracken.
This tweedy DK yarn has been specially chosen for its short colour changes which enables each butterfly to be a kaleidoscope of colour too!
Size of finished blanket is 92cm (36in) x 60cm (24in). Ideal for a receiving blanket. Make twice as long for a baby blanket.
Pattern will be emailed to you within 24 hours of ordering
