Full description
The Orchid mandala begins at the centre and grows outwards in gentle waves, with regular increases shaping a floral inspired circular design. To finish, the mandala is blocked, stretched & joined to a 40cm metal hoop.
The rhythmic nature of brioche stitch combined with the meditative repetition of the pattern invites a mindful knitting experience - echoing the calming centring essence of traditional mandalas.
Yarn:- Drops Fabel PRINT (sock yarn; 75% wool, 25% polyamide; 205m per 50g ball) & Drops Kidsilk (lace weight; 25% silk, 75% mohair; 210m/230 yds per 25g ball)
Yarn A; Berry Dreams (330); 1 x 50g ball.
Yarn B; Moonlight(44); 1 x 25g ball.
Needles:-4 DPN’s 3.75mm, 3.75mm crochet hook. 3.75mm circular needle.
Tension- 15 sts and 30 rows to 10cm over pattern using 3.75mm needles.
Notions- stitch marker, embroidery needle, 40cm wire hoop.
