I have taken the last few months off from woodturning to concentrate on my botanical water colour work a few examples of which you can view on my Instagram account. However, I have picked up the chisels again and will be adding new items and old favourites. The latest additions are two attractive sycamore drinks trays but more items to come.
I came across a well proportioned piece of ash and it seemed to shout at me to produce this piece. I like to experiment with different shapes and styles and was quite pleased with the outcome.

A chunky bowl turned in ash. The wide rim is designed to show off the natural beauty of the wood. The finish is dulled melamine and waxed.
