I dare you not to smile when you look at this fellow!
I started making a "normal" donkey sculpture but then this guy insisted on me giving him teeth and all of a sudden I was at a loss, what to do with him. So I let him rest for a bit and then it came to me, just give him braces. And make them turquoise. They suit him perfectly!
I made him using cotton, wire, stuffing and paint. His grey fur is made from an upcycled merino wool jumper and he has faux fur fringe, glass eyes and eye lashes.
He sits on a rough board of wood and the whole piece measures about 50cm.
This is a totally unique, handmade piece of textile art. I cut all my work free hand and without any patterns, it makes work more exciting and the result is always one of a kind. Thank you for looking and let me know if you have any questions. x
