Queen Elizabeth I is the inspiration for this fabric covered button pendant!
This colourful fabric button has been cut from a section of fabric called Elizabeth 16th Century Selfie, by American Fabric Designer – Tula Pink. Her Elizabeth fabric collection is a fantasy adaptation about Queen Elizabeth I. The 16th Century merges with the present in her designs in an explosion of colour and pattern that is both modern & quirky.
For this pendant, I have created a self-covered fabric button using a portion of the portrait of Good Queen Bess herself - part of her face, deep pink lips and pink heart on her cheek, plus her wonderful tresses in shade of jade with pearls (The Queens' favourite!) adorning her hair.
The button blanks are lightweight, but strong aluminium, I’ve then selected a silver plated round pendant blank to encircle the button and secured with jeweller’s grade glue. The fabric button itself measures 38mm, but set within the pendant surround measures 4cm wide by 5cm long – this includes the bail. I have added a silver plated 18 inch (45 cm) flat oval trace chain, the links of the chain measure 4.5 x 3 mm and there’s a 12mm lobster clasp at one end. The chain and pendant blank are both nickel and lead free.
This lovely unique pendant will come to you safe and carefully packaged in a UK Made eco-friendly recycled kraft card jewellery box (hand-folded by me!) - perfect for gifting (or as a treat for yourself!)
