A quick history. The fleece in this kit came from a sheep that spends its life in Portnahaven on the Isle of Islay. Wool is one of nature’s gifts and sadly one that today is undervalued and underappreciated. The fleece has been hand washed, with nothing more than washing up liquid, dyed with edible food dyes in old pots and pans on my Aga and hand carded on a beautiful wooden carding machine, that sits on my kitchen table. Your kit is about 80% Islay wool, 15% Merino wool and 5% recycled sari silk. By buying this kit you are doing your bit to support the Scottish wool industry, keeping alive traditional skills and hopefully enjoying yourself!
This kit is for a Brooch. Suitable for beginners
The kit contains:
Approximately 20 grams of fibre
Two squares of bubble wrap
