Thanks for stopping by! My shop will be taking a break for a bit as I'm heading to Canada! In the meantime, you can still purchase my work at my stockists in the UK - www.unearthedbylynn.com/where-to-buy
Inspired by my walks and adventures in the UK's countryside and along its seaside, and with a desire to reduce my footprint on the planet, I upcycle found pottery shards, sea glass and scoria glass, into keepsake jewellery to ground you in connection to its story.... to a person, a place, a memory. When you purchase Unearthed Jewellery, you also receive the story that has been uncovered....where your shard was unearthed, and more. I am registered with the Edinburgh Assay office and a Gold Member of the British Guild of Jewellery Designers. All Unearthed jewellery is signed with a .925 fineness mark and UBL makers mark.

Full description
Connecting you to the land and history from where they came, the shards featured in these upcycled sterling silver earrings were found in the Ironbridge Gorge in Shropshire.
What is Scoria?? Scoria is the glass-like by-product left over after metal, such as iron, has been smelted from its raw ore. Scoria is usually a mixture of metal oxides and silicon dioxide and can contain metal sulphides and elemental metals. Whilst it cannot be certain if this shard of Scoria came from the construction of the actual Ironbridge, the colours of the Scoria indicate it as iron-based.
During the Victorian era, several companies in Britain, France, and other European countries manufactured Scoria, or Slag Glass, into vases and also included the glass in tiffany lamps. Once polished, the swirls and colours resemble a mussel shell, evoking thoughts of the ocean at the end of the River Severn, next to which this shard was found.
Your historic shards are set into hammered recycled silver, called eco silver, making a statement of both style and sustainability. Sterling Silver earring wires ensure you shouldn't have to worry about any metal allergies.
These are the perfect gift for someone who wants to express their unique style and desire to take care of the environment. It would also make a great 3rd or 6th Anniversary Gift as scoria glass comes from iron.
