I'm always delighted to see any chaffinches who come to the garden, they are quite shy and like to stay hopping about under our silver birch tree picking up the seeds the other birds have scattered and keeping their distance. They are quite well camouflaged on the ground with their patterned plumage but it's lovely to see the flash of pink the males have on their breasts.

Full description
Clifford is a slightly shy little chaffinch looking for a nice, quiet place to live. He would be very happy to decorate your room by swinging from a cupboard handle or dangling from some twigs in a vase and will make a friendly, cheerful companion wherever you put him. He has smart white stripes on his wings and a twinkle in his eyes.
He has been carefully created from a mound of fluffy, dry wool fibres using a fine barbed felting needle to repeatedly stab them until they interlock, which over quite a bit of time blends all the colours together to give each bird a unique plumage and character.
Clifford has features and little wings on both sides, so doesn’t mind which way round he hangs to keep his eye on things. He has an embroidery thread loop and is just under 1 cm thick where his wings are placed (he's slimmer elsewhere), 9 cm across from tail to the tip of his beak and about 6 cm tall, (measurements are approximate).
Please note that he is a decoration and not a toy, and should be kept out of the reach of children as his wings and thread could be hazardous if pulled away. You will receive the bird shown in the photographs, and he will be carefully wrapped and sent by First Class post.
Please be aware that screen monitor colours can vary, and that I work in a smoke free home but do have very enthusiastic cat help from time to time!
