Bentley is a bold little felt blackbird with beady eyes and a bright golden beak, and is all ready to come and cheer up your home. (He will behave really well as long as he’s not allowed out in the garden to forage around in the borders for insects and worms, as his inspirational real feathered friends do.)
He has been carefully created from a mound of fluffy, dry wool fibres using a fine barbed felting needle to repeatedly stab them until they interlock, and has his own unique expression. He could swing from a cupboard handle or dangle from some twigs in a vase and will make a friendly, cheerful companion wherever you put him.

Bentley has features and little wings on both sides, so doesn’t mind which way round he hangs to keep his eye on things. He has an embroidery thread loop and is 1 cm thick where his wings are placed (he's slimmer elsewhere), 9.5 cm across from tail to the tip of his beak and about 6.5 cm tall, (measurements are approximate).

Please note that he is a decoration and not a toy, and should be kept out of the reach of children as his wings and thread could be hazardous if pulled away. You will receive the bird shown in the photographs, and he will be carefully wrapped and sent by First Class post.

Please be aware that screen monitor colours can vary, and that I work in a smoke free home but do have very enthusiastic cat help from time to time!

Even as I write these words at my kitchen table I can see our visiting blackbirds hopping about in the garden with a couple of chaffinches, and the inevitable pigeons. The blackbirds are the cheekiest and untidiest of all the garden birds here and scuffle and dart about in the borders flinging old leaves and bark chippings around, producing slight chaos as they look for worms! They are also the boldest and come really close when I'm working in the garden, full of character and a lack of remorse for the mess they have made all over the lawn.
