Textiles made from wire, chainmaille is a beautiful thing, it is tactile and feels lovely to wear.
Chainmaille is a time consuming process, every weave is handmade with passion.
I am fascinated by the vast number of chainmaille weaves available. I love the chainmaille costumes seen in re-enactment battles and how chainmaille has been used in fashion. I am always learning new chainmaille weaves.
I coil the wire into rings and saw cut the rings by hand. I then hand weave the rings in various weaves and hand paint by anodising the rings to create a beautiful piece of jewellery.
I work with natural materials so some variation in colour, inclusions, shape and size may occur. Variation is part of the charm of handmade and natural materials.

Hand painted using an anodising technique are these simply lovely titanium and garnet Swarovski crystal heart chainmaille earrings with sterling silver ear hooks. Handmade by Crystal Clarke.

I coil the titanium wire into rings and saw cut the rings by hand. I then hand weave the rings in a graduated persian weave and hand paint by anodising the titanium rings to create a beautiful pair of earrings that are elegant and the perfect go-to for any occasion be it casual or special.
