Black chicken stoneware lidded jar thrown all in one and hand sculpted to form this proud chicken. Glazed by hand in black and red with beady black eyes and flamboyant tail. Chicken is 14 cm high and 17 cm long

This is the second chicken jar I have made, and she’s based on Mariah, one of many chickens I’ve kept over the years. She was a lovely bird, who kept me company and followed me around when I was weeding my garden. I remember her fondly and enjoyed making this homage to her
